Tre|ha|lo|se [nlat. trehala (türkisch ti̅qa̅lah) = aus Kokons eines in Kleinasien heimischen Käfers Larinus maculatus gewonnene Süßigkeit; ↑ -ose (1)], die; -, -n; Syn.: Mycose: aus Pilzen, Hefe u. a. niederen Pflanzen isolierbares krist. Disaccharid aus zwei Glucoseeinheiten, das als Bakteriennährboden benutzt wird.

Trehalose
 
[französisch] die, -, Mutterkornzucker, Mycose, aus zwei Molekülen D-Glucose aufgebautes Disaccharid, das u. a. in Presshefe, Algen, Bakterien und im Mutterkorn vorkommt. Trehalose kann aus Presshefe als farblose kristalline Substanz gewonnen werden; Verwendung für bakterielle Nährböden.
